Out of so many collaborations going on out there, nothing goes deeper than blood. Casely-Hayford is a new luxury menswear brand launched by Joe Casely-Hayford and his son, Charlie Casely-Hayford. A veteran and blue-blood of the fashion industry, Joe Casely-Hayford was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to the fashion (as outfitter for rock band U2 as well as the creative director of Gieves & Hawkes). Paying tribute to the formerly expansive British Empire, Casely-Hayford was founded on the duality of British anarchy and English sartorialism.
The Casely-Hayford Spring/Summer 2009 pieces embody these key elements of English character and exemplify skilled British craftsmanship. The collection carries a line of finely constructed suits, voluminous trenches and fusion footwear (think combat-boots infused dress shoes). Casely-Hayford employs the Savile Row tailoring methods to create innovative yet sophisticated pieces through tradition. The Spring/Summer 2009 collection plays with traditional menswear staples, such as the tux, and adds edgy elements of surprise to it. The Genet zip out revere jacket in grey microcheck is finely tailored with a daring play on a detachable lapel. The brand’s first collection of fashion finesse are exclusively available at Adam et Rope, BEAMS, Barneys, Tokyo’s UNITED ARROWS and London’s Dover Street Market.
